Anant Kishore

Anant is the reigning champion of a fantasy football league that he has been in with some close friends for many years, though he is worried about his chances of a repeat performance.

Mr. Kishore is an associate practicing in the firm’s insurance defense, commercial litigation, and construction risk management groups. A large part of his practice involves defending property owners and construction contractors in cases arising out of work site injury. Accordingly, Mr. Kishore is well-versed in the legal issues related to claims made under Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241, as well as in the various risk transfer opportunities available to owners and contractors sued under those provisions. He also advises owners, contractors, and their insurance carriers on the appropriate steps to take to protect the insured’s rights in the immediate aftermath of a catastrophic work site incident.

In addition, Mr. Kishore’s practice at KSLN involves insurance defense cases in other contexts (including skiing collisions, motor vehicle liability, premises liability, and other tort liability), commercial litigation (including breach of contract and breach of warranty), and advising clients on negotiating and drafting risk transfer-related provisions in contracts.

Before joining KSLN, Mr. Kishore practiced at a large law firm in Rochester, New York, where his practice focused on commercial litigation as well as government and internal investigations. During his time there, he worked on many different types of commercial and corporate litigation matters (including breach of contract litigation, product liability defense, intellectual property litigation, corporate governance disputes, professional liability defense, and property tax assessment litigation). He also counseled clients on criminal, civil, and administrative exposure at both the federal and state levels arising out of potential government investigations, including participating in internal investigations to assess potential exposure and defending clients under investigation by a governmental entity.

Mr. Kishore previously served as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Rochester, where he taught an undergraduate Legal Reasoning and Argument course. While practicing in Rochester, Mr. Kishore was a member of the Monroe County Bar Association’s Diversity Committee, and he served as a co-chair of the 2014 Monroe County Diversity & Inclusion Job Fair. During law school, Mr. Kishore had the privilege to serve as a student law clerk at the Appellate Division, Fourth Department, for the Honorable Justice Rose Sconiers.
